About

Counselling Thailand, launched in 2018, is a private practice whose registered office is on Chonpratan Road in Suthep, Chiang Mai. It also serves Bangkok, Chiang Rai and other parts of the country, and offers online sessions in Thailand and abroad.

The practice lists individual counselling, couples therapy including Thai–Western relationships, child, teen and family therapy, and support for stress, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, LGBTQ+ concerns, alcohol and substance use, and compulsive behaviours. Named approaches include CBT, DBT, ACT, Satir, Gestalt, emotionally focused and person-centred therapy.

Its team includes British counsellors and Thai therapists who work in English. A free short introductory call by video is offered before booking, and fees are charged per session rather than per person.

Mental Health Services

Counselling Thailand provides counselling and talk therapy only. It says it is not a licensed medical practice and does not offer psychiatric or clinical psychological treatment, diagnostic assessments or prescriptions, and points people who need these to hospitals.

Its team of over 20 includes British counsellors and Thai therapists, and clients can choose a male or female counsellor and the session language, including English, Thai, Mandarin, Indonesian, Vietnamese and Korean. It sees adults, teenagers, children, couples (including Thai–Western relationships) and families, using approaches such as CBT, DBT, ACT, EFT, Gestalt, Satir and motivational interviewing, in person or online within Thailand and abroad.

A free Zoom call (15 minutes for individuals, 30 for couples and families) comes first. Sessions cost THB 2,765 for 60 minutes or THB 3,745 for 90, charged per session rather than per person, with the same rate in the evenings and at weekends. It may suit couples and expatriates who want therapy in their own language.
